Try not to make the same mistake twice / by kevin murray

We are not infallible human beings, which signifies that we will make mistakes, and the worst type of mistakes are those made of our own volition, especially when we ought to know better.  That said, to make a mistake, unless it’s a particularly tragic one, is part of the learning process, and ideally, from those mistakes, we learn what we need to learn, so that we do not continue to make those same types of mistakes, again and again.  Yet, many of us repeat the same mistakes, ad nauseam, which, when we take the time to reflect upon what we have done, brings not only regret but also shame.

The main reason why we should try our best not to make the same mistake twice, is that the best way to look upon our mistakes is to see them as an object lesson for us to learn from and to therefore remedy in one positive way or another, which may or may not require the assistance of somebody close to us, to keep us on track so that we do not do it again.  The thing is that what we ultimately become has just about everything to do with the choices we have made, and those who are unable to correct their mistakes are the same who are going to end up living a life full of mistakes with the corresponding bad consequences, so of.

So too, it is important to own up to our mistakes, and while it might be okay to excuse our behavior or error to another, while admitting the truth to ourselves, there are far too many people, that come up with the excuses or justified reasons why a mistake was made, but don’t really own up to that mistake, which thereby typically signifies that they are probably gong to make the same type of mistake in the future which is the very thing that they need to avoid or to take action to amend.

In this world, we will be tested, and one of the most important points in living this life is to demonstrate that through our experience and our wisdom, we have learnt our lessons well, and the way that we prove that is by making the right choices when we are put to the test, so that when we are graded, we get a passing grade.  Indeed, those who bother to examine their life along with their choices and don’t seem to be overly bothered about mistakes that they make and continue to make aren’t going to pass the test, and those so failing such a test will place themselves into the unenviable position of having to answer for that failure, which won’t be pleasant for them at all.

To err is human, but to continually err is a serious character fault, which mindful people will make amends on, because we are meant to be something of substance, which begins with not just taking agency of the decisions that we make, but also in making the right decisions at the right time, thus proving that we have successfully applied ourselves for our betterment and for the benefit of those that we congregate with.
